José Manrique Reyes es graduado en Publicidad y Relaciones Públicas en la Universidad de Sevilla, donde obtuvo el Premio Extraordinario de Fin de Estudios y estudiante del Máster de Análisis Sociocultural del Conocimiento y la Comunicación en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

En la actualidad es becario JAE Intro 2023 en el Instituto de Historia del CSIC (Escuela de Estudios Hispano-Americanos de Sevilla) donde sigue el plan de formación titulado La utopía en el ensayismo latinoamericano contemporáneo(JAEINT23_EX_0297),  tutelado por Juan Pro. Es integrante del grupo de investigación ÉPoCA (Estudios sobre poder y cultura en América) y del grupo HISTOPÍA. En el marco del proyecto UtopiAtlantica, trabaja en el desarrollo e implementación del “Laboratorio de Utopías”, a la vez que avanza en su Trabajo de Fin de Máster, que se enmarca en el ámbito de los estudios culturales, con especial interés en las complejas articulaciones que se dan entre cultura, identidad e ideología en el campo gastronómico.  xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Con anterioridad, fue beneficiario de una Beca de Colaboración del Ministerio de Educación, con la que llevó a cabo una investigación sobre el fenómeno estoico contemporáneo. También ha participado en proyectos de investigación internacionales sobre vivienda (Digitalized exclusion, public opinion, and the right to housing, financiado por UNA Europa), ha presentado comunicaciones en congresos internacionales y ha publicado artículos en revistas científicas de comunicación.

José Manrique Reyes graduated in Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Seville, where he obtained the Extraordinary End of Studies Award, and is a student of the Master’s Degree in Sociocultural Analysis of Knowledge and Communication at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid.

He is currently a JAE Intro 2023 fellow at the CSIC Institute of History (School od Hispanic-American Studies, Seville) where he is following the training plan entitled La utopía en el ensayismo latinoamericano contemporáneo (JAEINT23_EX_0297), supervised by Juan Pro. He is a member of the research group ÉPoCA (Studies on Power and Culture in America) and the HISTOPÍA group. Within the framework of the UtopiAtlantica project, he is working on the development and implementation of the “Laboratory of Utopias”, at the same time as he is progressing in his Master’s Thesis, which is framed in the field of cultural studies, with special interest in the complex articulations that occur between culture, identity and ideology in the gastronomic field.

Previously, he was the beneficiary of a Collaboration Grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education, with which he carried out research on the contemporary Stoic phenomenon. He has also participated in international research projects on housing (Digitalized exclusion, public opinion, and the right to housing, funded by UNA Europe), presented papers at international conferences and published articles in scientific communication journals.
