Profesor titular de Estudios Culturales y director del Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos de la Universidad de Copenhague. Con una formación interdisciplinaria en Estudios Latinoamericanos, Sociología y Economía ha ocupado puestos en la Universidad Libre de Berlín, la Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais, de Brasil, y la Universidad Técnica de Dresde. Además de numerosos artículos, ha publicado monografías sobre la prensa brasileña independiente durante la dictadura militar y las construcciones discursivas de la identidad colectiva en Brasil. Publicó recientemente Brazil, Land of the Past: The Ideological Roots of the New Right (Bibliotopía, 2021) y el volumen, editado con Sara Brandellero y Derek Pardue, Living (Il)legalities in Brazil: Practices, Narratives and Institutions in a Country on the Edge (Routledge, 2020).

Associate professor of Cultural Studies and director of the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Copenhagen. With an educational background in Latin American Studies, Sociology and Economics he held previous positions at the Freie University Berlin, Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil and at the Technical University Dresden. Besides numerous articles, he is author of monographs on the Brazilian independent press during the military dictatorship and the discursive constructions of collective identity in Brazil.
